Updated MSN Webmessenger, No longer BETA.
Contributed by: G3nu1n3, at 11/18/2004 06:49:00 PM.

MSN Webmessenger site has been upgraded (atleast the Beta status has disappeared) and it appears they have updated not only the website, but the web client itself.

Changes:

  • The main website allows you to choose your status before logging in. This is very similar to MSN Messenger 7.
  • Once logged into webmessenger, the interface is nearly identical to the MSN Messenger 7 interface. It has a MSN Today button, as well as, an avatar left of your name.

For those who still dont know what is WebMessenger?

MSN Web Messenger lets you talk online and in real-time with friends and family using just a web browser! Use it on any shared computer - at school, at work or anywhere you can't install the MSN Messenger software.

You must have the following to use MSN Web Messenger:
  • A web browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, Netscape 7.1 or later, or Mozilla 1.6 or later, running in Microsoft Windows.
  • An Internet connection (56 Kbps or faster recommended)
  • A Microsoft® .NET Passport. If you have a hotmail.com or msn.com account, you already have a Passport.
  • Popups enabled for this web site if you are using popup blocker software like the MSN Toolbar
