Beware : Fake Windows Update Email contains Trojan.

Windows users beware of a fake e-mail message intended to fool the users to download a trojan, when they think they are trying to patch up their system.

Here is the context of the email.

Date: Thu, 27 Jan 2005 01:22:50 +0000
From: Microsoft INC
To: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Subject: MS Windows/Critical Error
Attachment: "MsWindowsUpdate.rar"

Dear Sir/Madam,

We kindly ask you to install this update to your PC as soon as possible.

In the libraries of OS Windows® critical errors have been found. This errors lead to destruction of the system files from your computer without an opportunity on restoration. The given service-pack fixes libraries and does not allow various Trojan modules to penetrate into your computer.

Microsoft INC


The Rar contained an executable called "MsWindowsUpdate.exe".

Always Remember: Microsoft NEVER sends patch files via email !!!!

    I would like to meet the person who still accepts .exe files over email ;) point me to these types of lamers so that I can also join in the fun.

    Ask any System Support or a Techie, you will hear loads of very "Amuzing" stories.
