Nvidia unveils its fastest ever mobile GPU

Chip builder Nvidia has introduced what it claims is the world's fastest GPU for notebooks, the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra mobile GPU.
Although not generally known for use as high performance games machines, notebooks using the Go 6800 Ultra mobile GPU support Nvidia's range of visual technologies aimed at the gamer including Shader Model 3.0 and PureVideo Technology. Oh, and it also has PowerMizer 5.0 to help users manage power consumption on their notebook.
The first machine to use the new chip is the Dell Inspiron XPS Gen2 is the first notebook with the GeForce Go 6800 Ultra mobile GPU. Trumpeted as the ultimate mobile gamers machine Nvidia is claiming over 12,000 in the 3DMark 2003 benchmark - twice the performance of the previous Inspirion XPS.
