PTCL (Pakistan) terminates free night call facility

PTCL terminates free night call facility without formal announcement.

With the ending of free-of-cost telephone calls facility during the night, hundreds of thousands of subscribers across the country has been put in quandary, as now the state-owned Pakistan Telecommunication Company, Limited (PTCL), is going to charge them for making calls after midnight.

On August 14, 2004, the PTCL announced making local telephone calls at night free of cost for a period of six months, on an experimental basis. The facility of making free telephone calls during night ended on February 14, 2005 after the telecom giant made no announcement to further extend the period for this facility.
