Contributed by: G3nu1n3, at 2/17/2005 11:18:00 PM.

Update by SHA ...

Just as the reports regarding the lack of any "official PTCL" response at the end of the trial period for free calls were comming in, now we have the official viewpoint, which is quite contrary.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) has extended the free local calls regime, introduced on August 14, 2004, for another six months till June 30.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, the PTCL had taken this decision in order to facilitate its customers. The company had also announced a number of other incentives for customers such as reduction in nation wide dialing and international tariffs.

It may be mentioned here that the PTCL has already reduced new telephone installation charges. Internet service providers have also been given many incentives, giving a boost to the information technology industry in the country.
