Biometric Flash Drive From SanDisk
Contributed by: SHA, at 3/11/2005 07:00:00 PM.

California-based SanDisk, the original inventor of flash storage cards, has launched the world's highest density flash drive with fingerprint security.
The Cruzer Profile drives are offered in storage capacities of either 512 MB or 1 GB and the SanDisk maintains that they are also the highest density drives to be offered with integrated fingerprint security.
By integrating all fingerprint matching technology into the hardware, the Cruzer Profile becomes a portable drive that does not have to rely on the host computer to perform fingerprint matching. This maintains full portability for the end-user by eliminating the need to install any driver software on the host computer prior to use. The TouchStrip fingerprint authentication solution integrated into the Cruzer Profile also enables secure sign-on by allowing users to replace multiple passwords with the swipe of a finger.
