Firefox not welcome at Yahoo Music! Canada
Contributed by: SHA, at 4/01/2005 06:21:00 PM.

Yahoo! Canada today unveiled a new website called Yahoo! music that will offer Canadians Internet radio, music videos and music news. The announcement follows this weeks announcement by Bell Sympatico and MSN Canada of their new video website .
Yahoo! and MSN are aggressive competitors in the on-line portal, search engine and advertising business and the new sites are an attempt by both companies to attract more broadband users to their sites.
Digital Home Canada visited both sites this week and learned that both sites did not support the Firefox or Netscape web browsers. Web surfers will need to use Internet Explorer in order to listen to radio stations or watch videos on the sites. The decision by MSN to not support the Firefox or Netscape browsers is logical since MSN is owned by Microsoft the developers of Internet Explorer, however, Yahoo's decision to not support non-Microsoft browsers gives added credibility to its major competitor.
