The way storage is expanding ... whats beyond a Terabyte?
Contributed by: G3nu1n3, at 5/07/2005 11:27:00 AM.

Is there something bigger than a Terabyte?

Please, don't say two Terabytes.

Sure. There are lots of things bigger than a terabyte. Here you go ....

* 1,024 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte
* 1,024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
* 1,024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
* 1,024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte

* 1,024 Terabytes = 1 Petabyte
* 1,024 Petabytes = 1 Exabyte
* 1,024 Exabytes = 1 Zettabyte
* 1,024 Zettabyte = 1 Zottabyte
* 1,024 Zottabyte = 1 Brontobyte - that is a 1 followed by 27 zeroes

  • Seem like soon enough we would have to remember their names ;)

    I say this becoz a few years ago no one heard the Terabyte term, so soon enough we might come across a more frequently used Petabyte and onwards
