First Look: Vista
Contributed by: Absar Shah, at 7/31/2005 03:59:00 AM.

The first shots of Windows Vista have clawed their way on to the internet. I must say my feelings remail luke-warm, in spite of the high hopes I had for Vista. This was going to be a product where Microsoft was really going to innovate for the first time in history. This beta lacks several features (like the sidebar) that will (hopefully) make it to the release version in the second half of 2006, which kind of makes Beta 1 look like a skinned version of Windows XP with (even more) stability issues. Let me just say that the visual feel of the beta release (AND the search bar in Windows Explorer) reminds me of Mac OS X.

Nonetheless, the screenshots are worth checking out:
  1. From CNET
  2. From the Microsoft Windows Vista Virtual Pressroom
